SIXTH CLASS students at Wicklow Montessori School were presented with
a special group portrait to mark their graduation by well known artist
and fellow Wicklow resident Conor Walton. Mr. Walton lives in Ashford
and has held numerous popular solo exhibitions, including his most
recent, Landscape and Still Life in the Jorgensen Fine Art Gallery
in Dublin. His commission work includes leading academics, religious
and political figures and can be found in private collections as well
as public galleries.
Wicklow
Montessori School Principal, Dara Mulhall, says, ' We were delighted
when Conor, a parent at the school, made the kind offer of a group
portrait. 'As well as giving us a permanent memento of a great group
of children, if gives the students a terrific insight into the world
of art.'
'The
children were all drawn from life onto a single sheet of paper, each
portrait taking about an hour to complete.'
